Aromas: This Syrah has so many smells I associate with summer! Dusty gravel roads, just-picked ripe black cherries, wild strawberries and fresh herbs.

Flavors: The texture and tannins are nicely layered with fruit, herb and chocolate notes in this wine. I tasted brambly black raspberries, strawberry jam and black cherries combined with baking spices and bay leaves. The long finish was filled with cocoa powder, toasted almonds and chocolate mocha. Decant or cellar this reserve wine.

Food pairing suggestions: Lamb pops, barbecued chicken, grilled eggplant parmesan sandwich.
