In case you haven’t heard, Abacela is celebrating 25 years! I love their Fiesta Tempranillo for many reasons but it’s especially appropriate to drink right now during Abacela’s 25th anniversary. (Get it? Fiesta means festival/celebration!)

I also love the informative graphic on the back label of this wine. It tells wine lovers that this Tempranillo is fresh and fruity and should be enjoyed now. As the weather warms, I highly recommend sipping this wine with a slight chill. Just stick it on the top shelf of your fridge (the coolest part) for 15-30 minutes before popping this bottle open.

2017 Abacela Fiesta Tempranillo back label

Aromas: This wine has a lot of mineral, spice and savory notes! I smell gravel dust, baking spices and eucalyptus, along with black raspberries, cassis and almonds.

Flavors: The back label nails the fresh and fruity part of the Tempranillo– black cherries, blueberries, black raspberries plus violets. I love the grippy tannins and lovely texture that evolve into a mocha finish.

Food pairing suggestions: It’s a lighter, fruity wine that will drink well with carne asada fajitas, prime rib and lasagna. Buy a case and enjoy as you BBQ over the summer months.
