Beckham Estate Vineyard
Chehalem Mountains sub AVA
Willamette Valley AVA
he Beckham family didn’t intend on growing grapes and making wine when they bought their property on Parrett Mountain. Andrew Beckham, a potter, wanted a studio space of his own and the space in which to build it. But once they moved, he and wife Annedria realized it was a perfect spot to grow Pinot noir. After clearing much of the land, they dug hundreds of holes and started planting young vines.
Several years later, we get to reap the rewards of their hard labor in the form of a delicate Pinot noir that speaks to the soul. Their Pinot noir is made from Pinot noir clones 115, Pommard and Wadenswil and is a pretty ruby red with aromas of cherries, cedar and white pepper. In our mouths, we found a delicate mouthfeel with flavors that matched the smells wafting from our glasses. This wine had a nice, lengthy finish and would go well with lighter dishes that don’t compete with the wine, but rather enhance it.
Michele really loves this wine and included it in her most memorable wines tasted in 2013. Follow this link to read more.
