From the Momtazi Vineyard, this Willamette Valley Pinot noir was subtly different than most Pinots of the 2012 vintage. Although you wouldn’t know it by the the color– it was a deep, dark cherry red in the glass. But on the nose, there was a dusty, eucalyptus aroma that reminded me of a warm, summer day.

The flavors of this Pinot noir were more complex; an interesting herbaciousness akin to fresh bay leaves, tart cranberries, black pepper and many mineral notes. It had a pleasant tannic finish filling the mouth with cracked black pepper and a drying, cocoa powder sensation.

We think this wine would pair great with many different foods so go get some and try it!
