herries, cherries and more cherries!!! If you like cherries, this wine is definitely for you.
This is the first rosé wine made under Cornerstone Cellars Rocks! label and we’d call this a “go big or go home” kind of rosé! Made from a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet sauvignon, Pinot noir and Syrah, some might actually consider this a light red wine, rather than a rosé at all.
From the moment we poured this wine in our glasses, the cherry notes were prominent, ahem even dominant in this rosé. Maybe we were influenced by the smell but even the color of this wine was cherry red. (Sadly, we forgot to take a photo of this wine so you’ll have to take our word for it on the beautiful color.)
On the nose, we could detect fresh, ripe cherries, cherry cola, cherry pie and cherry twizzlers. In our mouths, this rosé had a nice full mouthfeel with notes of cherries, cherry pie (with a graham cracker crust) and blackberry jam on the finish.
We bet this wine could hold its own when paired with anything hot off the grill while enjoying a warm summer evening in the backyard.
