Are you an “ABC?” It stands for “Anything But Chardonnay” and it’s a real thing! In case you’re in that camp, please do yourself a favor and try this Chardonnay. It’s completely unoaked, and the name INOX is short for inoxydable, which is French for stainless steel– a clever nod to how it was made.

Beyond the great texture and mouthfeel this wine delivered, we found tart citrus notes of Meyer lemons and pink grapefruit combined with green apples and passionfruit. This Chardonnay was bright with abundant minerality and a long finish. Pair it with salads, spring pea risotto or grilled basil and garlic pork chops. If you like to nerd out on wine, turn any bottle of Chehalem wines around and read all the specs they provide!

I’m in the stainless steel (and concrete egg) Chardonnay camp for sure – no big oaky buttery Chards for me. Sounds like this is one I would enjoy. Thanks for the tip!

Hey Marlynn- I too am happy that our Chardonnay makers steer clear of that buttery “California-style.”

I’ve got no problem with chards of both the buttery or the unoaked because it’s all about what you pair with it and whether you want contrast or complement flavors!

So Pech, what’s the opposite of an “ABC?” An “XYZ” perhaps? If so, I think that’s you! 😉

Haha! I have been a little anti-chardonnay lately but I would definitely try this one!
