Syrah at its succulent and pleasurable best is back! Domaine Combier have today announced the release of the new 2016 vintage of their Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Laurent Combier in both red and white; wines made from young vines whose ardour and vigour brilliantly express the purity of fruit that will accompany to perfection all the best moments of summer. A delight 100% Terroir which offers a first glimpse of the magnificent potential of the 2016 vintage in Crozes-Hermitage.
2016, A VINTAGE 100% TERROIR
The Crozes-Hermitage appellation was largely preserved in 2016, allowing the creation of top quality wines, typical of the region and its terroir, with excellent volumes. In red, the 2016 Cuvée L is fresh and delightfully fruity. The nose, with typical Syrah characteristics, gracefully intermingles violet, blackcurrant and soft spice. Well-balanced and supple in the mouth with generous but smooth tannins, it is a wine bursting with fresh red fruit characters with a touch of spice and a superb, slightly peppery finish. In white, the Cuvée L reveals all the minerality and vivacity of Marsanne. A magnificently expressive, floral nose sets the tone for this wine of great gourmandize that offers an immensely fresh, smooth palate with aromas of white blossom and citrus fruit. Absolute, unadulterated pleasure as an aperitif.
CUVÉE L, CROZES-HERMITAGE IN ITS PUREST FORM
Famous for their Clos des Grives, a parcel selection Crozes-Hermitage with huge ageing potential, Domaine Combier also offer lovers of the Northern Rhone Valley a wine in the first flush of youth, produced every year in May. Conceived as the pure essence of Crozes-Hermitage drawn from young vines, this is a wine of sheer pleasure that everyone can enjoy. In its red version, the Cuvée L is a celebration of Syrah, intensified by ageing on lees in ovoid vats, whilst the Cuvée L white is an ode to Marsanne.
The Cuvée L 2016 is now available in wine stockists and restaurants throughout France.
