FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MEDFORD, Ore.– The crowning event of the Oregon Wine Experience– southern Oregon’s destination wine event– will be the Miracle Auction and Salmon Bake on Sat., Aug. 22 from 4:30 to 10 p.m.

One of the most important aspects of cuisine in the Pacific Northwest is the king of the waters, fresh  Pacific salmon. Long before Hollywood’s stars, including Clark Gable, Ginger Rogers, and John Wayne came to the wild and scenic Rogue River for the superb fishing, the tradition of plank-cooking salmon over an alder wood fire was the stuff of ritual and folklore.

The Coquille Indian Tribe– with  10,000 years of experience– will be providing, preparing, and cooking the evening’s salmon. Chief Don Ivy will  talk with the guests as Chef Chris Foltz from South West  Oregon Community College Culinary School will be cooking over an open pit. Chef Awna Zegzdryn with AZ  Catering– she is the culinary coordinator for the  entire Oregon Wine Experience– and Chef Neal Clooney of Smithfield’s will be preparing the pork loin and brisket.

It is tradition to serve the best when your best friends visit. That is why the Oregon Wine Experience will punctuate this extravagant outdoor buffet by serving only Gold and Best of Show award-winning wines.

The Grand Auction will feature live, platinum and silent auctions, and will be followed by music, dancing under the stars, and the opportunity to exchange stories and share more wine around the fire embers.

Tickets are $200 and proceeds benefit Children’s Miracle Network and its mission to help children in the region with significant medical needs. For tickets and information, visit http://www.theoregonwineexperience.com/miracle-auction-party.

And don’t forget the great art on exhibit and for auction at Oregon Wine Experience. Visit http://www.theoregonwineexperience.com/art for more information.

The Cause
The Oregon Wine Experience benefits the Children’s Miracle Network, which is just one beneficiary of the Asante Foundation. Founded in 1973, The Asante Foundation is dedicated to furthering the objectives of Asante–the cornerstone of health care in the region. As a Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital serving Southern Oregon and Northern California, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center is one of 170 CMN Hospitals in the country providing pediatric care treating 17 million children annually. In 2014 the Event raised almost $300, 000 and 100 percent of those proceeds went to Children’s Miracle Network and other Asante healthcare programs including the purchase of training mannequins for birth and delivery.
