Vino frizzante (semi-sparkling wine)
idely distributed and easy to find on a store shelf, the Mionetto Il Prosecco delivers a lot of bang for the buck. Mionetto thrusts its Italian style out there for all to admire. The packaging is beautiful with an artistic-looking “il” written in a scripty, paintbrush style coupled with a super sexy bottle shape.
Happily, it wasn’t all packaging– the juice inside was pretty good too! Made using Glera grapes grown solely in the designated D.O.C. region of Italy, these bubbles were soft in the mouth. Clean and bright, this Prosecco had some acid on the palate to match its aromas and flavors of green apples, lemons and lemon zest finish.
Although this wine is just fine alone, the price makes it a good one to use for mixed cocktail drink recipes that call for bubbles or in your weekend mimosas.
