SEATTLE (Dec. 18, 2015) – Three of the nation’s most influential wine magazines have awarded Washington State with top accolades for the 2015 year. Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Wine & Spirits have released their “Top” of 2015 lists, which celebrate 42 Washington State wines from 32 Washington State wineries.
Each year, editors select standout wines from thousands of submissions from around the world reviewed throughout the year to name their most celebrated 100 wines in the following categories: Top 100, Top Cellar Selections, Top Best Buys and Classic Scoring Wines. Wine & Spirits Magazine also celebrates the Top 100 Wineries in addition to naming top specific wines.
Fourteen Washington State wines made Wine Spectator’s Classic Scoring Wines of 2015, a list that celebrates wines that earned scores of 95 points or higher on the Wine Spectator 100-point scale, and an additional seven wines were listed on Wine Spectator’s Top 100.
Wine Enthusiast named Washington State 23 times to its three Top 100 lists: Top Best Buys, Top Cellar Selections and its most acclaimed, The Enthusiast 100. Of the named 23 wines, Washington State landed in the top 15 of each list.
Wine & Spirits selected six Washington State wineries for its Top 100 Wineries of Year. This list is a collection of producers from around the world with the most exceptional track records in the magazine’s blind tastings.
“We are thrilled to see Washington State continue to stand so prominently on these lists,” said Steve Warner, president of Washington State Wine, the organization which represents all wineries and growers in Washington State. “These recognitions continue to prove Washington State’s reputation for crafting wines that rank among the world’s best.”
