2015 Patton Valley Vineyards The Estate Pinot noir
Willamette Valley
Oregon
800 cases produced
14.1% alcohol
Patton Valley Vineyards is located at the far west end of the north side of the Willamette Valley. Hugging the ridgeline, the 72-acre property has about 30 acres planted in grapevines. In that spot, the coastal winds hit the vineyards most of the year and help to retain high acidity levels in the grapes.
This wine has Pinot noir clones Dijon Clones 113, 114, 115, 667, 777, Wädenswil and Pommard, giving it both balance and structure. Drink now or cellar for a special occasion in the future!
Aromas and flavors: Red fruit notes of cherries, cranberries and strawberries plus sandalwood and forest floor. This Pinot has bright acidity, nice tannins and a long finish, making it a great food wine.
Food pairing suggestions: Pair with garlic rosemary pork chops, a vegetable tart, grilled quail.
Also, if you like rosé, Patton Valley hosts an all-rosé event each July called Drink Pink. It’s super-fun and filled with rosé wines from local producers in every shade of pink from salmon to bubble gum. Keep your eyes open for the 2020 date as summer nears.
