SMAK Wines specializes solely in making rosé wine, each one created for a different time of the year. And just look at that oh-so-cute label artwork! Just so you know, while SMAK owner and winemaker Fiona Mak made this rosé for fall and winter, you don’t HAVE to wait until the weather cools to drink it. This rosé, made with Syrah fruit, is really all about weight and mouthfeel– it’s fuller, rounder, and heartier– making it a perfect beverage for chilly days and nights. Or, drink it during warmer weather with a “heavier” meal. See my suggestions below!

Color:

White peach

Bouquet:

I found fun, fruity aromas of ripe blueberries, tart kumquats, and tangerine peel with my first whiff. More time with this rosé revealed freshly baked biscuits, peach cobbler, and sea salt. Seriously, it’s like all my favorite foods combined into one aromatic wine!

Palate:

This wine tastes like many of those same aromas, including ripe Rainier cherries, blueberries, and summer peaches along with tangerines. Subtle notes of salinity and faint bubble gum joined these fruity flavors in a dry, lingering finish.

Food pairing suggestions:

Parmesan pork chops, coconut red curry with tofu, chicken skewers, black bean tortilla soup.
