This wine’s front label is a photo of the fretboard on owner/winemaker Steve Well’s 1997 Fender Jazz 5-string bass. It’s very fitting since music is such an important part of Steve’s life! Maybe it’s subliminal, but his Viognier has a way of dancing around your mouth, almost twirling on your tongue.

Aromas and flavors: This Viognier is filled with lovely summer smells of white peaches, honeysuckle and apricots. We also discovered hints of white grape juice, ginger, and more unusual aromas of wet hay and dry gravel. Wow, this wine has some great texture and a nice, round mouthfeel! Along with flavors of those aromatic stone fruits, are hints of bubble gum and starfruit. It finishes long with notes of tart lemon zest and white pepper, leaving one yearning for another sip.

Food pairing suggestions: Grilled chicken salad (with grapes), caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes, ripe peaches and fresh burrata cheese, pork chops with mashed potatoes and apple sauce.
