Brooks Wines lands in Portland in collaboration with Woodblock Chocolate

Introducing Bons Amis, an experiential wine and chocolate tasting room from renowned Oregon artisans Brooks Wine and Woodblock Chocolate!

Launching to the public on Saturday, April 30, Bons Amis marks the first time that Brooks Wine, the biodynamic estate winery nestled above the Eola Amity hills, puts down its roots in Portland. They’re launching Bons Amis in collaboration with Woodblock Chocolate, Portland’s first chocolate maker who have been pioneering the American craft chocolate movement since 2010. Both artisan makers are sustainability and hospitality experts, whose passion for the misunderstood products and processes of their luxury traditions have made national impacts alongside lifelong friends and fans.

Together, they’re turning their attention to one of the most misunderstood and challenging culinary pairings, wine and chocolate.
Bons Amis will be located in the light-filled cafe within Woodblock Chocolate’s beautiful manufactory headquarters on NE 17th Ave, just off Broadway. Guests will find Parisian cafe seating, an open bar concept, and a full pairing menu available every Friday from 3-7pm, Saturday from 12-7pm and Sunday from 12-5pm. More days to come later this summer.

The menu will feature Brooks wines, with an emphasis on their passion for expressive Riesling styles. Expect a strong focus on origin and varietal alongside fun explorations of wine and chocolate’s culinary personalities. Bubbles and chocolate will flow at Bons Amis, along with forays into daring pairing aspects of aromatic dry rieslings and savory expressions of single-origin cocoa beans. For savory chocolate pairings, think cocoa nib-coated goat cheese, Oregon hazelnut gianduja, brined cocoa beans, and more. These pairings will be available via guided flights, but guests can also opt for a bottle or glass pour of any Brooks wine to enjoy at the cafe. For those not imbibing, Woodblock Chocolate’s cult-favorite chocolate chip cookie will be available, along with a glass of fresh milk.
