Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice is the name of this innovative class offered on Wednesday, May 30th from 7:30-9pm at The Meadow Salt shop in North Portland.

Two Oregon vermouth producers, Patrick Taylor of Cana’s Feast and Neil Koppline, one of the owners of Imbue Cellars are working to spread the word to Portlanders that vermouth paired with chocolate can be a heavenly combination. These vermouths are unlike those your parents and grandparents enjoyed back in the day. Infused with herbs and spices, class participants will find subtle flavors with a delicate balance between sugar and acidity that pairs especially well with chocolates.

Cana’s Feast Chinato d’Erbetti is created using a base of Oregon-grown Nebbiolo, an Italian varietal, infused with close to 20 different herbs, spices and aromatic plants. Locally made Clear Creek Distillery unaged brandy is the final step in the process of its creation. Imbue Bittersweet vermouth combines Oregon brandy with macerated botanicals and barrel-aged Willamette Valley Pinot gris. Both vermouth producers pay tribute to aperitif wines made in a hand-crafted style for hundreds of years.

Attendees will be treated to six vermouths paired specifically with fine chocolates that not just enhance the flavors of both but elevate one’s tastebuds in a way that neither component could do alone.

Don’t miss the opportunity to be an early vermouth adopter and enjoy this inventive, new, refreshing twist on dessert. Tickets are $30 and space is very limited. All attendees must be 21 years or older. Get your tickets before this class sells out!
