Dinner at Verdigris

Dinner at Verdigris

Recently we had the opportunity to dine at a quaint little French-inspired Portland restaurant called Verdigris. I’ve been ooohing and aaahing over their online reviews for quite some time so I jumped at the chance to have dinner there! Chef Johnny Nunn, along with wife Kristina have created a bistro-type experience that almost transports you to Paris, were it not for English being spoken and the stellar hospitality.

Tucked between a small group of neighborhood shops, Verdigris is warm and inviting the moment you step inside. The restaurant only has a few tables, including two larger ones for groups, so I highly recommend making a reservation using Open Table.

Open for brunch and dinner, Verdigris is perfect for special occasions as well as everyday dining. And the Nunn’s have designed the menu that way too. After participating in Portland Dining Month, they have kept a Chef’s Choice 3 Course option on their menu for $35. Included in that price is an appetizer, entree and dessert– a real steal in my opinion!

It is amazing the flavors they can create in such a small kitchen space. And we relied heavily on Wine Director Sarah Egeland (previously at smallwares), to help us select cocktails and wines, based on the dishes we ordered. Overall, we thought our entire meal was excellent, both food and service!

Below is a photo essay of all the yummy goodness we experienced during our dinner at Verdigris.

Please be sure to dine there soon and let us know which were your favorite dishes and drinks after you do!
