Pinot noir for this estate blend was grown in all four, mostly south-facing blocks of the Bjornson Vineyard, at an elevation range of 450-550 feet. The Pommard clone made up 43%, with 25% clone 667, 19% clone 777, and 13% Wadenswil. Each Pinot noir clone and block ripened at different rates so fruit was brought into the winery over the course of a month, starting September 30 and wrapped up with the final pick on October 26. Upon harvest, each batch was cold-soaked on the skins for four days, which imparted some beautiful color into the finished wine. After 11 months of barrel aging, of which just 18% was new, the Pinot was bottled. This wine is a true expression of the terroir found on the Bjornson property.
