This reserve wine is a blend of Pinot noir clones from a number of blocks located throughout the 28-acre estate vineyard. Southwest-facing, it sits between 450-550 foot elevation. The coastal Van Duzer winds bring cool air in during the warmer summer afternoons, which concentrates the fruit flavors and raises natural acidity levels.
Structured and bright, I suggest enjoying this Pinot from wine glasses with a larger bowl, so the wine can decant a bit. In our Riedel Oregon Pinot glasses, the strong tannins integrated nicely with some air exposure, and evolved into a full, rich wine with a long, memorable finish.
