Interestingly, this wine contains Pinot noir grapes from a number of different regions within Oregon. Some from the smaller Eola-Amity Hills AVA, with another portion from the Eugene area, within the greater Willamette Valley AVA. The remaining fruit was from the Umpqua Valley appellation, located within the larger Southern Oregon AVA. You could say this bottle is a cuvée blend of the best of Oregon!
Bouquet:
Aromas of rose petals and strawberries rose from my glass, along with earthier notes of freshly tilled soil, sandalwood and cocoa powder.
Palate:
Tart notes of cranberries and rose hips evolve into wild strawberries, cedar, and baking fixings of nutmeg and cocoa powder. These flavors integrate with grippy tannins, all culminating in a long finish.
Food pairing suggestions:
Sausage and sage stuffing with toasted hazelnuts, roasted butternut squash orzo salad, baked salmon with garlic.
SRP $36
