Bouquet:
Fruity aromas of blackberries, black plums, black raspberries, blueberries, and a hint of cigar box rose from my glass as I swirled this wine.
Palate:
I found this GSM (42% Grenache, 41% Syrah, 17% Mourvèdre) red blend to be nicely structured, with an equal balance between fruit and savory. I tasted tons of black fruit flavors, including; blackberries, black plums, black raspberries, brambleberries, blueberries, and a touch of blueberry syrup. Savory notes of cedar, dried herbs, baking spices, and cinnamon were just as prominent, along with abundant acidity. Medium-bodied in weight, with a slightly prickly tannic texture and a cocoa powder finish, I highly recommend drinking it slightly chilled on a warm day.
Food pairing suggestions:
Barbecued pork chops, crispy potato and beluga lentil skillet, Tomahawk rib-eye steak.
SRP $25
