2018 Argyle Reserve Pinot noir

2018 Argyle Reserve Pinot noir

Willamette Valley,
Oregon

14% alcohol

Screwcap closure

LIVE-certified winery

Color:

Garnet red

Bouquet:

This Pinot delivered classic Willamette Valley earthy aromas of forest floor and bay leaf, along with fruity red cherries and tart cranberries.

Palate:

Not only did this wine taste like baking spices, nutmeg and cocoa powder but also cherry cola and both red and black cherries. The finish was long, reminding me of bourbon-soaked cherries. If you plan to drink young, I recommend decanting so you can experience all the nuances this wine has to offer. Better yet, buy several bottles and drink them over 2-3 year intervals so you can see how the wine changes with age!

Food pairing suggestions:

Coq au vin, pizza with smoked salmon, crème fraîche and topped with caviar, mushroom and roast vegetable shepherd pie topped with mashed cauliflower.

SRP $40
