The Laelaps wine team sourced Pinot noir from the Nemarniki Vineyard, which was planted in 2011. Located in the Laurelwood District appellation, nested in the Chehalem Mountains AVA, it’s named for the old loess Laurelwood soil found throughout the wine growing region. Grapes for this wine were hand harvested during the first week of October 2018, sorted and given a 4 day cold soak to extract more color, aromas and flavors before fermenting. Eventually, the wine was aged in 33% new French oak for 11 months before bottling.
The finished wine had notes of earth and tart fruit with abundant texture and acidity that evolved into a long finish!
