Mae’s Vineyard, Applegate Valley, Rogue Valley, Southern Oregon, Oregon
LIVE-certified winery and vineyard
This Viognier smells like summer! Abundant aromas of starfruit, honeydew melon, white peaches, and pears filled my nose as I sniffed and swirled this wine.
The fruit for this wine comes from the Steelhead Run and Ox blocks of Mae’s Vineyard, owned by Quady North. Located in the Applegate Valley, Herb Quady has discovered a real sweet spot for growing Viognier! His vineyard site regularly producing fruit with good acidity and a full mouthfeel. Along with bright acidity and a round texture, I also tasted tart honeydew melon, pears, and sun-kissed apricots. The wine was zingy, full, and had a long, honeyed finish.
