In 1985, Elk Cove planted Pinot noir at this estate vineyard, a steeply sloped site at about 800 feet in elevation, located near the hamlet of Gaston, The soil is marine sediment and the grapevines produce small, concentrated berries. After fermenting in small, open-topped steel fermentors, the Pinot was then aged for 10 months in French oak, of which 32% was new.
