Made mostly using red grapes grown at the Garnier Vineyard, which overlooks the mighty Columbia River and the Washington basalt cliffs, this rosé can best be described as a whole lotta fun! A blend of three varietals; Grenache, Syrah, and Tempranillo, don’t let the wine’s paleness throw ya, it’s chockfull of dry tartness. Jay Somers is a seasoned winemaker so don’t be surprised if, after you taste one of his wines, you find yourself seeking out them vintage after vintage.

Just a hint of salmon pink

This wine had aromas, including sour cherries and cranberries, that made my mouth water as I smelled it. I also detected mineral notes of wet stone and fresh rain as I swirled my glass.

Tart cranberries and lemons opened into flavors of underripe strawberries, red raspberries, and pink lady apples. With a tart, clean finish, this rosé went down really easy so I suggest pacing yourself after you open the bottle or buy several bottles to enjoy as the weather warms.

Food pairing suggestions:

Shrimp ceviche, endive boats with goat cheese, pomegranate seeds and crushed pistachio nuts, Thai noodle salad.
