After careers that took owners Bob and Mignon Ervin around much of the world, they returned to Oregon and, rather than retiring, instead launched Monte Ferro Winery in 2009. Monte Ferro is a micro-producer that specializes in cooler-climate varietals as well as Syrah, with an annual production of just 500 cases. Terry Brandborg is their winemaker and sourced fruit for this Pinot gris from two vineyards in the Elkton Oregon AVA. Just 30 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the grapes benefit from the coastal breezes funneled inland over the Umpqua River.

With just a kiss of residual sugar, this wine had abundant minerality, bright acidity and was downright mouthwatering! It’s a steal of a deal so why not stock up and sip it all summer long?
