Remy Wines to Host World’s First Queer Wine Fest June 24

Dayton, Ore. (May 26, 2022) — On Friday, June 24, Remy Wines will host the world’s first-ever Queer Wine Fest, bringing together LGBTQ+ winery owners, winemakers, and winegrowers from across the West. The event will kick-off the region’s third-annual Wine Country Pride festivities the last weekend in June, a multi-day, inclusive celebration of the LGBTQ+ community in Oregon’s Willamette Valley.

Co-Founded in 2020 by queer winemaker Remy Drabkin, owner of Remy Wines and Interim Mayor of McMinnville, Wine Country Pride seeks to be a visible celebration of the queer community in rural Oregon, and a portion of all ticket sales from Queer Wine Fest will be donated to Wine Country Pride to support its 2022 events and its larger mission.

“Remy Wines is honored and delighted to host the world’s first event dedicated to queer-made, queer-owned, and queer-led wineries,” said Drabkin. “We believe this event will bring crucial representation and connection to queer wine professionals while highlighting LGBTQ+ contributions to the wine industry for queer folx and allies alike.”

Guests of Queer Wine Fest will enjoy red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines poured by LGBTQ+ owners, winemakers, and vineyard managers from 17 wineries across the West. Participating wineries include Adega Northwest, Bergevin Lane Vineyards, Casa S Winery, Circadian Cellars, Elk Cove Vineyards, Fayetta Vineyard, Franchere Wines, Hip Chicks Do Wine, K & M, Mercury Wine, RAM Cellars, Remy Wines, Roco Winery, Sis and Mae Wine, Statera Cellars, Sylvi Wines, and Westrey Wine Company.

Live music and a bountiful feast of international cuisine will accompany the festival-style walkaround wine tasting. Camp Crush will headline the stage show – the Portland-based, new-age pop duo produced by Rian Lewis (Doja Cat, Gorillaz, Chromeo, D.R.A.M.) who were featured among OPB’s Top 10 Sessions of 2019. Hearty provisions from Caballeros Catering and the Stoller Family Estate winery kitchen will accompany the wine tasting, which will be limited to 200 guests.
