You know how you feel when you stumble upon a secret gem of a place and worry that if you share it with your friends, it won’t be a secret for long? That’s how I feel about ENSO Winery! But juicy secrets have a way of getting out and ENSO is no exception.
Ryan Sharp and Chris Wisbart opened their urban winery and tasting lounge just one short year ago and are having a party to celebrate ENSO’s anniversary, an important milestone in the winery’s success.
Mark your calendars and plan a visit over Memorial Day weekend when ENSO will be open 12-10pm Saturday-Monday. For only $10 per person, expect to receive a preview of their new red blend Chateauneuf du Stark, along with 2011 Pinot gris, Rosé and a Riesling they promise is “not your grandma’s Riesling.”
Portlanders have embraced this SE tasting lounge, pushing growth five years ahead of Sharp’s original projections.

“We designed our winery to grow with us so that we could still focus on making small-batch, high quality wines. The cool thing about growing this fast is that has allowed us to work with even more varietals and experiment with different fermentation and aging styles.”
[/quote]Culinary neighbors Steve’s Cheese Bar and Olympic Provisions will also be on hand during the one year anniversary party weekend with nibbles to sample while enjoying ENSO’s wines. Partygoers are encouraged to join ENSO’s Inner Circle wine club. Not only is it free to become a member but the winery is very generous to their loyal supporters, treating them to early releases of the new wines, special pricing and private parties.
