Nearly 1 in 5 Oregon kids is hungry or lacks proper nutrition. Oregon is among the 5 hungriest states in the United States. Now that’s a lot to swallow.
Share our Strength has been working locally to raise awareness of childhood hunger issues in Oregon since 1988. Their Taste of the Nation event brings together 56 of the region’s finest restaurants, 27 wineries and 10 breweries, all offering samples with the goal of raising much needed funds to end hunger in our state.
Come support Share our Strength’s cause by spending an evening where you can eat and drink to your heart’s content, something many Oregon children can only dream of. Try your hand at food and drink pairings as dozens of Portland’s top chefs will be showcasing their favorite dishes alongside locally made wines, beers and distilled spirits.
Don’t miss the silent auction with unique packages to give as gifts or buy for yourself. Every dollar raised at the Taste of the Nation Portland event (from admission tickets to silent auction items) will be donated to hunger relief efforts; including the Oregon Food Bank, Partners for a Hunger-free Oregon, St. Vincent de Paul Food Recovery Program and the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank.
