Bliss House at Lynmar Estate

The Bliss House at Lynmar Estate

According to the dictionary, bliss, a noun \ˈblis\ means “complete happiness.” And I think we can all agree that in today’s world, that can be very hard to find. Although the Winerabblers didn’t exactly go looking for bliss when we secured a stay at the Lynmar Estate Bliss House, boy oh boy, did we find it! For those who may not know, Lynmar Estate is located on the outskirts of Sebastopol, in the heart of Sonoma’s wine country, just north of the Napa Valley.

Situated on a one hundred acre vineyard, the Bliss House is available exclusively to the Lynmar wine club members (and special guests like us.) Owners Lynn and Anisya Fritz have created a sanctuary in the form of two homes uniquely joined by a long entryway. After ooohing and aaahing through the windows at the Japanese-style gardens tucked between the two homes, we went to the right and found two bedrooms, two baths, a tiled kitchen along with a living and dining area with huge windows.

We decided that Michele’s parents could have their pick of bedrooms on this side of the house since one was downstairs and might be easier on their knees. Across the living room from the wood stove and unique stonework surrounding it, a door led out to an expansive deck with comfy outdoor furniture that overlooked the Laguna de Santa Rosa and the grapevines surrounding the entire home. More ooohing and aaahing followed the views literally took our breath away!

After catching our breath, we followed the deck extension past the garden space between the homes. There we found more tables and chairs on the deck leading to the big glass doors of the second, more modern home. We must admit that we spent most of our time out on these decks! Partly because the wisteria was in full bloom, showering us with fragrance and flowers as we sat and enjoyed the blissful and ever-changing views. The modern portion has two more bathrooms, a bedroom upstairs with a giant closet, another living room and dining area that can seat a large group as well as a big kitchen with all the amenities one could ask for.

Here’s a photo gallery that describes the Bliss House better than words ever can!
