Bloomery Plantation Distillery takes a stand against boring unadventurous drinking, so the tiny distillery set on a mission to break away from this. For starters they went back, way back, to the way the old timers used to do it. Moonshiners would flavor their ‘shine with real fruit and sugar for a smoother, more palatable ‘shine. Bloomery’s all natural SweetShines are made in that same old fashioned way, by hand, with 190-proof corn likker, pure cane sugar and farm fresh ingredients.

On their 12 acres where the Blue Ridge Mountains meet the Shenandoah River, the distillery grows lemons, Hawaiian ginger, cranberries, raspberries, black walnuts and pumpkins. What they don’t grow they try to source from other small American family farms. Farm to table. Garden to glass. Their farm-fresh ingredients are hand-picked, hand chopped, hand zested or hand squeezed.

Bloomery SweetShine’s are award-winning—in fact their Black Walnut Liqueur just took Double Gold at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Award, earning it the title of best nut liqueur in the world. Although the SweetShines are delicious by themselves, they are terrific mixers. Indeed where they truly shine is mixing it up with other liquors, which makes for an outrageously fun cocktail playground.
