Bouquet:
I loved that this wine possessed equal amounts of minerality, fruit, and oak-influenced aromas. Smells of black raspberries, gravel dust, and toasted bread rose from my glass as I swirled.
Palate:
Blackberries, black cherries, and cherry pie danced across my tongue as I sipped this red blend. Earthy flavors of green and red peppers and espresso gently wrestled within my mouth, combining into a subtle grittiness. Acidity and tannins were nicely balanced in this wine and culminated in a long, spicy finish.
Food pairing suggestions:
Grilled steak with blue cheese crumbles, coffee-rubbed chicken wings, blackened tofu with cheesy grits.
